Post Secret

A couple years ago I checked out Post Secret from the library. What a cool concept - people write their secrets on a postcard and mail it in anonymously. It's both hilarious and heartbreaking. I hope that some of those folks get some closure from being able to put their deepest darkest stuff down on paper. And, a lot of the cards are really artistic. You can read new secrets every Sunday here.

Anyway, I did my own Post Secret card as part of another ATC swap. Not telling which one is mine.

Photos!

Took another roll with a disposable camera, and actually got a few good ones from the day we spent at Frenchman's. Ahhh, summer!

It was a super fun day, except for Beth's head injury. Poor thing got popped on the head by a falling waterski.
The rest of the photos are either too blurry, or of random things - looks like a kid got a hold of the camera at some point.

Thursday Already?

This week has flown by, where does the time go? I've been crocheting up a storm, getting ready to open an etsy shop of my very own. I'll put some pics up here once I get the film from my camera developed. Yes, I am using my dinosaur camera for now. I have to say that I like the click click noise of the shutter, my digital camera didn't make that satisfying little sound. Jordan comes home today, it'll be nice to have him home. He's taking a plane so there's no road tripping this time. In the process of putting all of our business stuff in Quickbooks - should be doing that right now, actually. My dear friend Tobi helped me set it up, thank god. My head was spinning at first but I think I've got it down now.

The concert last night was awesome! Brett Dennen was amazing, put on a great show. It was a small venue, which was very cool. Love him even more now.

And this talented local gal opened up for him:

All in all, a great date night! But, maybe I shouldn't drink tequila. Or eat fiery wings at 11:00pm. I'm just thinking...

Too Quiet!

Shane has been gone since Friday, camping and kayaking with the crew. Jordan is still in the Bay Area, and last night Hannah and Evan spent the night with their friends - so I was home alone. All alone - that almost never happens, especially not overnight. I was pretty lonely and weirded out last night, but waking up this morning to a quiet house was mighty fine. Had a nice morning, drinking coffee and watching the news (instead of Spongebob), and doing some scrapbooking:

Off to pick up my kids and give out extra hugs!

TGIF!

So ready for the weekend! It's been a long, hectic week here:
  • Busy with work and juggling schedules for 4 employees.
  • Vet visit for injured bird. 73 bucks. I am a suckah.
  • Drove Jordan over the hill for a visit with Gma and Gpa.
  • Urgent Care (an oxymoron if I ever heard one) visit for Evan's hurt wrist - he's ok, just spraint it. That's what he says, "spraint."
  • Still dealing with Bank of America and their asshole-ish tactics.
  • Having a friend over tonight for scrapbooking, whoot!
  • Got to clean house for said visit.
  • Reading and laughing over A Confederacy Of Dunces.
  • Two packages ready to be mailed today.
  • Sorry Shad, that means your b-day gift will be a little late.
  • Finished presents for baby Avery. She's adorable!
  • Got to do payroll, today is payday.
  • Listening to Jamiroqai.

Yo Jordan!

Missing you around here already! Although you would still be in bed right now if you were home, and you probably are anyway, but I ramble. Enjoyed our little road trip yesterday - a little Atmosphere, some Monster Magnet, and of course, the Femmes. By the way, neither of us had it right:

Have a great time in the big city, don't miss your buggy little sibs too much. See ya next week!

What My Husband Does For Fun

He's not in this group, but has done this run a few times. Mom, I do not suggest you watch it. Click here instead.

Art Cards

I recently did an ATC swap with some gals from SIS, the subject was "art". It's an awesome set, I love them all! Especially the Sailor Jerry card, I have a special place in my heart for that one.

Diggin' The Sounds

For Shane's birthday, I gave him tickets to see Brett Dennen - woo-hoo! I am so excited - I love, love, love his music, and am kind of surprised to see him playing here. We usually get acts like Tom Jones or Captain and Tenille.

Some lyrics from my fave All We Have:

There's enough wealth for everyone
but some have the most and
most have some and
there's enough food for us all to flourish
tell me why are so many malnourished?
You say there's weakness in an empty pocket,
no and I'll tell you there's weakness in an empty heart,
and you say there's strength in the power to control
and I'll tell you no, there's strength in only love and compassion."

Kinda gives me goosebumps.

Did I mention I am stoked to see this dude live?

A Shout Out

I've been thinking about starting an etsy shop for a while, but haven't quite gotten there yet. Kate beat me to it, she's quite the determined crafter. Check out her shop here. If you haven't heard of etsy, it's an online marketplace for all things handmade. Unique stuff from some really talented people. Can you dig it? Yes you can.

Took some pictures yesterday with a disposable camera. I was a little bit embarrassed whipping that sucker out down at the Art Town festivities last night. Getting the film developed today, hopefully some of the pics turn out.

Happy Birthday!

Happy B-Day, Shane!

Yep, we are growing old together, which I love. Hope you have a great day, and kick ass tonight in the kayak race! Looking forward to enjoying your present together.

Love you forever, T

The Scrapshack

The scrapshack is back in business! Got all my stuff back out there and organized, now I just need to find some time to scrap. I am having serious scrappin' withdrawal. I did some crocheting last night, so I did get a small craft fix, but still itching to make something with paper. My latest crochet project: catnip cat toys. Made one and tested it out on our cat Ashley. She liked it, a lot. She rolled around on the floor on her back with the little catnip pillow in her paws, rubbing it all over her face. Then she started running around the house like a furry bullet. I kinda feel bad for drugging her - have there been studies on the long term effects of the nip?

Happy 4th Of July!

Feeling rather bitter that our camera is now completely broken, and this is a huge weekend for photo ops.

Yesterday was Jordan's 17th birthday - how is that possible?

Today is the 4th - looking forward to picnicking and fireworks.

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday (wink, wink) - would love to celebrate by sleeping in, doing something crafty, and going out for sushi. Got some beautiful flowers from my sweet sister. Love ya Bri!

What not to do today:

Have a safe & sane one, you hear?

Miss You Already

We had so much fun catching up! Sorry Danielle couldn't make it too. It went by so fast! You guys live way too far away, it just sucks. We were all pretty sad today when everyone left, especially Hannah. She misses Logan so much, she's been crying on and off all day.

For a bunch of old people, we sure know how to party!
